A Day of Remembrance and a Day of Service
Dear Friends of our National Cemeteries,
The Department of Veterans Affairs along with the cast and crew of "Narco Sub" feature film, will pause this coming week to remember and to honor those who lost their lives, as well as those who have served our Nation in the two decades since that fateful day.

VA Remembers September 11th
We know many feel called to mark this anniversary with more than just moments of remembrance, and for those who are able, we invite you to join us.
2021 National Day of Service
On Friday, September 10 at 10 am (local time), more than 60 VA national cemeteries across the nation are partnering with the non-profit Carry The Load to host a National Day of Service.
Following a brief ceremony, volunteers will clean headstones and perform other tasks to beautify these national shrines.
(Note: Start time is 9 a.m. at Washington D.C.-Baltimore area national cemeteries)

Another way we can honor those who've served is to pay tribute to a Veteran using the
Veterans Legacy Memorial site.
VLM is an online platform memorializing more than 3.8 million Veterans interred in VA national cemeteries. Each Veteran has his/her own memorial page where families and visitors can upload a short tribute, photos, documents and more.
VLM is easily accessible by smart phones.
Please share this message with others who may be interested in volunteering for our National Day of Service or in posting a tribute on the Veterans Legacy Memorial site.
Thank you for everything you do on behalf of Veterans and their families.
